Some interesting info has been garnered from the Microsoft Open House by ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley when she talked with the director of communications for Microsoft TV, Video and Music business, Jose Pinero, reports engadget mobile.

Apparently Pinero confirmed Zune’s next step will be to mobile phones but a “timeline for when that will happen” has yet to be discussed.

Pinero was also questioned on the subject of Zune Pass subscription services becoming available on other devices including Apple products in future with Pinero’s response being Microsoft is “evaluating a lot of options in terms of platforms,” which means they are simply reiterating their stance that Zune is a media service not a device.
