In the past there has been much debate over a Dell mobile phone, well now according to sources Dell is gearing up to launch a “Googlephone” on the AT&T network over in the good ole USA reports The Register who gained the info from an article in the WSJ.

Apparently the word is Dell could well intro their new Android platform handset as soon as early next year, and if so and with AT&T it would give the Android operating system a strong foothold on all 4 major American wireless networks; Verizon which a deal with Google was announced earlier, Sprint, T-Mobile and then AT&T.

Of course if the Dell Android handset does go with AT&T then it will obviously be going directly up against the iconic iPhone which at the moment AT&T holds exclusivity over.
