Windows Marketplace DRM is easily thwarted says developers

Apparently developers are talking about Windows Marketplace DRM and it’s not looking too good, as apparently the “copy protection” that is used to keep apps in place rather than strewn over multiple mobile phones is somewhat of a “pitiful joke” reports engadget mobile.

Word is it take roughly 5 minutes of playing about just to save CAB files which Windows Marketplace downloads to a separate folder, which basically means that CAB file could well be distributed to just about anyone.

This could then apparently turn a single purchase into freeware for anyone who wants it, but no doubt Microsoft will get onto this as soon as they can.
