Word has it that Research In Motion is gearing up to launch the new BlackBerry Storm 2 possibly as soon as this week on the Vodafone network according to the inquirer.

The BlackBerry Storm 2 is said to apparently address the shortcomings found in the original BlackBerry Storm with an overhaul of the touch screen and the addition of WiFi to the smartphone.

Research In Motion has however refused to confirm any reports that the BlackBerry Storm 2 is ready for launch even though sources have reported the BlackBerry Storm 2 will begin selling on Vodafone this month with a tariff of £30 a month.
