The Android packing HTC Hero has claimed the Gadget of the Year Award at the T3 Gadget Awards with more than 135,000 readers placing their vote for the HTC Hero reports the Daily Mail.

The HTC Hero smartphone beat back strong rivals the Apple iPhone and the Palm Pre to reap the Gadget of the Year Award and T3 Magazine describes the HTC Hero as the “Jewel in the Android crown.”

A T3 Magazine spokesperson said that with the mix of svelte good looks, the jutting chin and slick intuitive usability, the HTC Hero seems to do everything well, without fuss. So well done HTC Hero congrats on your award.
