Today sees Windows 7 go live and available, and the guys over at the iphone blog have set up a forum to deliver help to those who require it when upgrading to Windows 7 and transferring your iPhone over from Windows XP.

The thread starter, Rene Ritchie, starts off by giving his practices for getting everyone started and goes like this…de-authorise you old machine via iTunes, copy all iTunes media to a suitable USB drive, only iPhone / iTunes , install Windows 7, install iTunes, authorise new machine in iTunes, copy iTunes content from USB back to Windows 7, restart iTunes, and then sync the iPhone.
