ARM has now announced the launch of their ARM Cortex-A5 MPCore processor, which is the smallest low power ARM multi-core processor that delivers the internet across a wide range of devices such as low cost mobile phones, feature phones and smartphones.

According to ARM, the Cortex-A5 processor delivers outstanding performance and power scalability for compelling usage scenarios that are demanded in each of these mobile markets.

The ARM Cortex-A5 uniprocessor delivers a high value migration path for a large quantity of existing ARM926EJ-S and ARM1176JZ-S processor licensees, and delivers better performance, and offers virtually twice the power efficiency of previous popular processors.
