So we know that the Verizon/ Motorola Droid will be packing some Android 2.0 Elair, but who will be next in line to push out Android 2.0 smartphones? Well according to Gearlog’s Sascha Segan it could well be HTC.

Apparently he did some detective work and has found out that Samsung wouldn’t confirm they are working on any Android 2.0 packing handsets, but when asked of HTC they apparently confirmed they have had Android 2.0 around for a while and are working on future phones.

He goes on to say that nobody has any word on if existing Android based smartphones could be upgraded to Android 2.0, but expects to hear an official Android 2.0 announcement this week.
