China Mobile Anti-monopoly Lawsuit Settled

A lawsuit filed by a customer has been settled by China Mobile Corp owner of the worlds biggest phone company by subscribers.

The lawsuit alleged that the carrier had abused its market position to charge users fees. The lawyer who sued China Mobile under the nation’s new anti monopoly law has said that the company has agreed to pay him 1, 000 Yuan. He had originally requested 1,200 Yuan for the two years worth of 50 Yuan monthly fees he was charged.

China Mobile which had some 508.4 million subscribers at the end of September cut all call fees and have raised handset subsidies to attract 15.24 million users in the 3rd quarter. Source -bloomberg.com
