Verizon Motorola Droid is no competition to the iPhone: Here’s why!

We want to say a little about the Motorola Droid from Verizon and Apple’s iPhone and why the Droid is no competition to the iPhone, we say it is not an iPhone killer.

If you look at the specs list the Motorola Droid seems pretty impressive and really should outsell the iPhone, the Verizon Moto Droid has an impressive 3.7-inch 480×854 touchscreen display whereas the iPhone only has a 3.5-inch 480×320 touchscreen display, the iPhone does not have full slide-out qwerty keyboard.

How about the fact the iPhone only has a 3.2 megapixel camera and the Motorola Droid has a 5 megapixel camera, the Droid handset has the cool turn-by-turn GPS integrated whereas the iPhone does not, the droid is a little thicker at 0.54-inches than the iPhone’s 0.48-inches.

The Motorola has a SD card slot, the iPhone does not even though the iPhone does not need one considering you can get a 32GB model, the Droid even has a battery that can be removed, the question is has the iPhone got as far as it can possibly go or can it get better.

So if the Motorola Droid has a better spec sheet how the hell can the iphone be better, really come on how can the Motorola Droid be an iPhone killer, well we say it cannot and so does PC World and here is why.

Android 2.0 OS is getting better but the operating system on the iPhone will always be that one step ahead, when Apple get pushed into a corner with a new and better phone coming out Apple go to the drawing board and think of something even better. Apple always brings us new updates and of course refreshes the platform and we know that Apple fans are loyal; the platform keeps getting better and even more powerful.

People are used to iTunes because it is simple to use, the Apps Store is easy to navigate, there are more apps for the iPhone and more and more are being developed as you read this, Apple control the apps which means users get the best from it, the list goes on why the iPhone will never have strong competition.

Apple accessories are quality and much better on the inside and out, the iPhone looks much better than the Droid device and we all know that looks are a key factor when buying a phone. So please let us know what phone is better and please do tell us if you think the Verizon Motorola Droid is an iPhone killer.

The droid can’t beat the iphone because the iphone will get better? The hardware is lacking and the OS is restrictive (unless hacked), I think the droid will give it a run for its money. No idea if it will beat the iphone, but history is littered with the technologicaly inferior winning with consumers.

Will be nice to see some competition, I for one welcome our new android masters.

No offense but you just proved your thesis wrong. The droid has the i phone beat in every aspect it seems in the elements you described above. What (I think) you were trying to say was that Android will never surpass Apple in general. (Truthfully the droid sounds like a much more impressive phone in the way you compared them)

Wow…talk about an obviously biased article. You say that the iPhone looks much better then the Droid device. Well, you are entitled to your opinion. But, I disagree, and I know plenty of others that do as well. There are many things about the iPhone that are great, but most of them are going to be equaled, or surpassed, by the Droid. They are both great phones that offer a wonderful array of features and apps. One key factor (to MANY people) makes the Droid the winner. With the Droid, you do not have to be on AT&T. Verizon has been the clear winner to consumers for years now. It’s an easy choice.
