The Verizon Motorola Droid is now official and along with that, Google has announced they will offer free turn by turn navigation in Google Maps on the Motorola Droid smartphone.

Motorola Droid will be the first handset but Google intend to include turn by turn navigation in other mobile phones which sport the Android 2.0 Eclair operating system, and included enhanced features such as auto-rerouting, voice based directions, voice search, 3G views and points of interest.
