The web based version of GMail for the iPhone has now seen an update from Google whereby GMail for the iPhone now features an auto-expanding composition box.

Google says the new auto-expanding composition box will make composing longer messages easier as the user will see more text when they type, you type and once you get close to the bottom of the box it will automatically expand by a few more lines.

With the auto-expanding box for the iPhone it will take away the necessity to press and hold to scroll with the magnifying glass, and now gives the ability to flick to scroll as one would on say a web page.
