The time: midnight on Thursday, the place: midtown Manhattan, location: Verizon Wireless store, more than a hundred people gather and line up to grab hold of the new Motorola Droid smartphone.
According to an article over on Cnet, Verizon opened their store at midnight until 2:00am where roughy 100 people waited to get their hands on the Motorola Droid, and Verizon officials ushers them in 25 at a time.
David Samberg, a spokesperson for Verizon said he is confidant Verizon can meet the demand for Droid in New York City. The store on 34th Street has 500 Droid handsets along with some Droid Eris handset and Samberg added he expects anyone who wants to get one on Friday should be able to.
