Phones 4 U iPhone 3GS taken off website: Why?

This is not good; we had an email sent to us from Phones 4 U Key Account Manager Rajpal Bhogal saying that the Apple iPhone 3GS will be withdrawn from its website as of (12/11/09).

Well we decided to take a look at the Phones 4 U website and it seems it has been taken offline, we checked out for example the Apple iPhone 3GS 16GB Black and yes it does show you all the details about the handset but a message at the top says “An error occurred on this control”.

The email sent to us said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we have to withdraw the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3Gs from the Phones 4u Website as of midnight tonight.”

Please let us know what you think about Phones 4 U taking the iPhone 3GS of its website and why you think this has happened.

  1. Truly weird.

As I don’t think its a take down request really…

Dunno. If it is Apples decision though to remove it from there catalog then that is pretty poor on there part but unfortunately the norm for Apple.

  2. Martyn says:

I noticed yesterday (11th) that Phone4U were offering the iPhones with the special offer of the unlimited WiFi and browsing, on both o2 and Orange.

It was unspecified to whether this meant that they were ignoring Orange’s capping at 750MB or not; and within their terms and conditions held nothing to suggest otherwise….

Maybe this was an oversight and they were trying to stop some of the traffic whilst they sorted it?
