Video: Samsung Behold II Unboxing and Hands-on

The Samsung Behold II smartphone gains some traditional unboxing treatment and hands-on love today in a video courtesy of the guys over at phone dog, and the reviewer says he’s not that big a fan of the plastic panel front on the Samsung Behold II.

The Samsung Behold II is an Android handset that is GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, with a 3.2 inch AMOLED touch screen, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, Gmail and Google Talk, WiFi, and microSD expansion and 3.5mm jack.

The Samsung Behold II on T-Mobile feels nice in the hand with a brushed metal panel on the bottom front which is painted black with the function keys including the cube key and boots fairly quickly. The Samsung Behold II also features a notification bar which has handy phone, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS buttons rather than a widget or icon to launch.

The Samsung Behold II unboxing and hands-on video lasts almost eleven minutes and the reviewer takes a short look at the cube which he says he thinks he wouldn’t use too often, and goes on to do a quick comparison against the HTC Droid Eris and the Motorola Droid, so hit up the video below and enjoy.

I am really looking forward to getting my Samsung Behold II in February. I am waiting for current 2 year stint to end to get a cheaper price. So far, this looks amazing. I have seen reviews with stock Behold II and look forward to chance to update to Android 2.0 if needed at all. Since it is a new phone, I would expect some hiccups to show, so hopefully I get a batch that has been revised at least once when I get mine. Looking forward to the unlimited possibilities it seems. Been using flip phones since 2006, have been wanting to add functionality for a long time. Does POP exist on these phones when used with WiFi? Also, have seen that 3G can’t be turned off, has anyone came with a way to fix this and make it more selective? For example, when at work, signal strengths aren’t that great, would rather use WiFi capabilities for any browsing or web related activity. Currently get with the Beat about 2 to 0 bars inside work, when I move around I do get better strengths.
