Nokia N900 does not do portrait mode but actually does

Under: Nokia
Date: December 2nd, 2009

The Nokia N900 has a default screen setting of landscape mode but some clever person used an app which actually transformed the landscape mode Nokia N900 into portrait mode and apparently when the handset was shut down it remained in portrait mode reports best-mobile-contracts.

Apparently although the Nokia N900 doesn’t officially allow portrait mode Nokia will be adding the function at a later date, but the app exploit apparently works over all Nokia N900 devices although it won’t be available in certain screens.

Furthermore, Maemo packs some excellent app support such as game emulators which enable the Nokia N900 to run downloaded ROMs, and there was rumour that Maemo will replace Nokia’s Symbian OS.

However according to Nokia they will continue to support Symbian and will use both operating systems on their handsets.
