Apparently a developer build of UberTwitter was leaked yesterday and word has it according to the guys over at crackberry that UberTwitter actually leaked the version themselves and @Codewaden explains why.

First though, when a leak happens one of two things happen with developers, they either take their gear underground so no further leaks come out, or they look on it as an opportunity to pull in some new users and reach a wider audience.

The second of theses seems to be the case with UnberTwitter; anyway on to what @Codewarden has to say about why the UberTwitter release has been made available and what we can expect from the next version…

They say they have been working hard on a “knock-out” release for beta-6; however the first pre-release was shared widely and also didn’t post the correct BlackBerry OS builds. So to rectify this UnberTwitter has released the first pre-release for anyone who wishes to download and try it out.

So there it is, it was leaked so why not put it out for trial even though it isn’t a finished product, but then isn’t that the best way to get feedback? UberTwitter also say a final release is still a few weeks away.
