Christmas 2009 UK: Will Motorola Milestone UMTS version of Droid flop?

The UMTS version of Droid the Motorola Milestone is all set for Christmas 2009 in the UK but is expected to flop; it was announced recently to have an exclusive deal with eXpansys.

The phone on eXpansys in the UK and T-Mobile is going to offer this handset with an 18-month contract at £35 a month and with that you will get unlimited texts and data for after Christmas, eXpansys is also offering up to £100 trade in on your old mobile phone.

Unthinkable say “looks set to be a pre-Christmas dud in the UK”, is this true or not is the question we would like answered. The full price is around £450 and if it was a good enough phone to sell it surely would have gone on sale with the likes of Carphone Warehouse or even Phones4U.

Is it the fact that UK would like to see how USA does with sales before they start selling it hard here, the UK has many new releases this side and the other side of Christmas so do we really need the Milestone?

Please let us know what you think about the Motorola Milestone, would you buy one in the UK?

  1. Paco Dooley says:

The Expansys £100 rebate for trade-in of a smartphone is BS since they only offer the full £100 for a few specific models. The list of accepted trade-ins is really limited and for many phones you only get <=£40.
