Apparently the Nokia Ovi Store has been outpaced by the iPhone App Store due to the Ovi Store’s slow speed, crashing and lack of features and as it stands wasn’t ready for the iPhone’s approach according to an article on electronista.

So what is Nokia to do? Well apparently they will revamp the Ovi Store and come out fighting in the spring with a Genius type system that will recommend applications based on what friends have already downloaded and will implement in-application payments like the one on iPhone applications.

The upgrading of the Ovi Store will apparently coincide with numerous changes to Nokia’s strategy whereby Nokia will see a major update to their mobile phones with the arrival of Symbian 3 and the arrival of multi-touch in the first half of next year
