Nexus One has T-Mobile 3G but AT&T EDGE only

Numerous reports slowly hit the net concerning the new Google Nexus One smartphone, and today we have a report from slashgear with a few more details concerning the Nexus One handset; apparently tnkgrl has spent some hands-on time with Google’s baby and here’s what was confirmed.

It has now apparently been confirmed that the Google Nexus One just supports T-Mobile USA 3G while with AT&T the Nexus One will just be limited to EDGE.

As for the rumour that Google may opt for just VoIP over data and bypass carrier voice, apparently tnkgrl reports that the Nexus One voice calls are routed in the normal way, so that’s that rumour out the window.

Other details emerging are the Nexus One has numerous gold connections on its bottom and a microUSB port. Tnkgrl has said that the Nexus One is “super snappy” and faster than the Droid, and “nicer looking in person than in pictures.”

On a down note, apparently the Nexus One does not support multi-finger gestures in either Google Maps or browser, so will be a bit of a disappointment for multi-touch fans.
