Millions to be spent by 02 in 2010

Mobile phone operator 02 is said to be preparing to spend hundreds of millions of pounds in 2010 in an attempt to prevent as report performance of service outages suffered by angry customers this year.

The Chief executive Ronan Dunne of 02, yesterday apologised to customers in London where were intermittently unable to make calls due to the operator’s network being overwhelmed with traffic.

Apparently according to a spokesman for 02 they have been hit by an absolute explosion in customers surfing the web or just using their smartphones such as the iPhone to download applications.

02 customers have taken the hit harder than other rivals due to the fact that the operator was just until recently the only British firm to carry the iPhone which is extremely heavy on mobile phone networks due to its online content. Source – dailymail.co.uk
