Android phone with 4.3 inch display for Motorola?

Speculation is high again and this time it surrounds Motorola and that they are currently in the process of working on a mobile handset which is said to have one of the largest displays ever seen on a smartphone.

Currently the phone is going by the code name of Shadow and is said to be equipped with a massive 4.3 inch WVGA touchscreen, various other high end features and Google’s Android operating system.

The only equivalent of the Shadow is the HTC HD2 however, that is Windows Mobile based. And the closest in the way of the operating system is currently the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 which will come with a 4 inch screen.

The Google Nexus One and the Motorola Droid have screens of 3.7 inches. The Shadow is expected to have a tablet shape and will hold a massive 8 megapixel camera and a HDMI video out port. Details are obviously still a bit sketchy at the moment but this really is some exciting news for smartphone lovers out there. Source – topnews.co.uk

Good to see more Android phones coming. The problem with the HTC HD2 was that the aging Windows Mobile OS was not up to the hardware that it was inside. For example, Windows Mobile automatically disables the Snapdragon processor’s inbuilt 720p video (WinMo can’t recognize HD video).

Now put Android in a Snapdragon phone, and it flies.
