Will Verizon launch and ship CDMA iPhone in 2010?

There are rumours of Verizon launching then shipping a CDMA Apple iPhone in 2010, the hold-up is all down to a price being agreed with Apple, we would love to know if this is all true and of course so do you as a choice of new carriers would be highly beneficial for users and of course sales.

We saw this information via Ars Technica and we find it very interesting indeed, the iPhone has already been launched with multiple carriers in where at first had exclusive rights with O2 which is now no longer as other UK carriers have the iPhone, and then there is the long-term exclusive deal with AT&T. This deal with AT&T was for five years with the deal apparently ending this year.

Verizon Apple iPhone is impossible at this time because they need a Verizon-capable iPhone, this means that Verizon need a CDMA iPhone which has been rumoured to be launching this year of 2010.

Verizon do need the iPhone as many AT&T customers have dropped the iPhone with them due to bad service (We would love to hear about this if you have suffered), are you with AT&T and have moved to another carrier and bought a different device?

So will Verizon launch and ship CDMA iPhone in 2010?

    I had at&t for about 8 months. I loved the iphone and believe that its the best phone on the market. I live in Akron, Ohio and had no service where i live and even went to the extreme of buying a $500 external antenna to put on my house. After 8 months of dropping call after call and not getting service, i went back to verizon. I had the droid for about a month then left it and went back to my blackberry. The touch screen was not even close to the iphone. I was able to sync the droid with my MAC but it was a pain to set up. In the end, nothing compares to the iphone but what good is a iphone when you cant talk to anyone due to the poor service that At&t provides.

    I had the iphone, since I am a hard core mac user. I quickly found out that the service with at&t was horrible. I had many dropped calls, the network was down often, and the hang time was horrible. I never dropped my Verizon service, and I’m glad that I didn’t. I hope that Verizon and Apple will reach a deal, at&t’s weak coverage does not do the iphone justice.

    I wonder that with Verizon using more android phones and that with the new Droid commercials attacking the iphone “iDon’t” will apple still launch a CDMA phone?

    @Hank

    I live in Akron too, my iPhone works everywhere (except maybe deep within buildings, but only rarely is that a problem). I had a lot of problems with my phone until i updated to 3.1.2 when it came out.

    PS, the only real dead spot I have experienced is on W. Market near Fairlawn Country Club

    My wife, daughter and I have an Iphone and I can’t see how we can live with out it. We use to live in Anthony NM, and our AT&T service was better than Verizon. This is comming from a 9 year customer that switch because I needed a new itouch n new cell phone. Right now we live in the high coutry Second Mesa Arizona, and we AT&T beats verizon, Tmobil,alltel n everyone else when it comes to service n signal strenght. I will never go back to verizon, my whole family is switching to the best phone n the best carrier Iphone N AT&T……….

    I can not see Apple going with Verizon. Just for the simple fact that the iPhone is not sold in just the U.S. with that being said…..Oversees you must have GSM to have a phone….I can not see Apple spending the money to have 2 phones…..looks like it will either be AT&T or TMobile in the us….unless Verizon makes the switch to GSM

    I was with verizon a long time ago, back when i first started out with cell phones. Then i switched to at&t cause all my friends used them and said they were better, and i too thought they were at first… then i got the iphone, which i love the iphone, could use some improvements but it is a great phone but where i live in Hanover PA there is no 3g service for at&t, to get 3g i had to drive into Littlestown which is smaller then my town or drive into maryland to get 3g, so i dropped at&t and sold the iphone and went back to verizon cause they do have 3g in my town, so now i have a htc droid eris. Android is ok but its no apple and would like to get an iphone again if they had it for verizon.
