For some reason or another Sony Ericsson has seen delay after delay launching their Windows Mobile Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 smartphone which was supposed to be a Vodafone UK flagship handset on launch.

Well according to an article over on The Mirror, Vodafone has now confirmed they will not be offering the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 smartphone in the United Kingdom.

A spokesperson informed the Mirror that “Vodafone UK will not be ranging the Sony Ericsson X2. The delivery date of the device, with Windows 6.5, slipped pre-Christmas due to a series of technical issues and we have taken the decision not to go ahead with the launch as it no longer fits with our planned portfolio.”

So there it is, if you were hoping to grab a Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 from Vodafone this year, you had better be looking somewhere else or for a different smartphone as Vodafone has given the XPERIA X2 the order of the boot.
