Apple has filed a patent application for a portable device in the line that could possibly be for the iPod or iPhone.

It is said that it will feature solar cells that will be able harness the power of the sun to keep it full of juice that will allow you to make that extra phone call when needed.

The new apparent system is also capable of monitoring the current battery state so that it then decides whether or not it will need some recharging or not, this is brilliant if it all works the way it says.
