Apparently the iPhone may gain several new mobile games such as Doctor Who and Top Gear as the word is the BBC is planning on bring several of their franchises to the iPhone reports an article over on pocket gamer.

Word has it that the BBC’s commercial arm will produce the mobile games and are currently on the lookout for game creators and developers with a view to bring said games to the iPhone.

No doubt if the BBC does manage to bring the likes of Top Gear and Doctor Who to the iPhone considering the huge following those programs have they will no doubt be a big success.

Aunty Beeb shut down their multimedia division back in 2005 when an attempt to place a Spooks game on the PlayStation 2 was aborted, but apparently they now feel the iPhone offers a much stronger possibility.
