Prototype LTE Phone from NTT DoCoMo at MWC 2010

During Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona this month, NTT DoCoMo will demo a prototype mobile phone which runs LTE tech reports an article over on pcworld.

NTT DoCoMo who is working with NEC, Panasonic and Fujitsu on prototype LTE data terminals and mobile handsets is planning on launching LTE data services later this year in Japan.

The prototype mobile phone will be used to demo high definition video over an LTE network and will be running on a prototype LTE chip developed by said four companies.

The Mobile World Congress is in Barcelona from the 15th to 18th of February, and apparently NTT DoCoMo is planning on investing somewhere between ¥300 billion and ¥400 billion to roll out LTE tech over the next 5 years.
