Now here’s quite a novel way to grab hold of the Android Weather Channel application as apparently the Weather Channel is doing a bit of their own advertising for their Android application on TV.

The video which can be viewed below courtesy of androidtapp, is a video of a typical weather broadcast, but low and behold what pops up? Why it’s a little floating Motorola Droid which is followed by QR barcode.

The viewers can then scan the QR barcode on their TV using the Bar Code Scanner Android Application and you are then taken to the Weather Channel Android application on the Android Market to download.

Apparently it is an innovative approach to bridging the gap from more traditional media and mobile consumers in real time. So hit up the video below and check it out.
