Video: Symbian S^3 Previewed

The Symbian Foundation has now unveiled the new Symbian S^3 open source platform, and is apparently expected to be ‘feature complete’ by the end of the first quarter, and the first mobile phone using the Symbian^3 platform is expected in Q3.

Included in Symbian^3 are swiping, pinch and zoom, kinetic scrolling, along with a ‘visual multitasking’ option which enables the user to see open apps in a similar form to the Palm Pre card system.

Here’s what the list of features includes according to businesswire…HDMI support, music store integration, more efficient memory management, new 2D and 3D graphics architecture, ready for 4G, single click connectivity, usability enhancements.
