It appears that Apple isn’t happy with the iPhone operating system just being on the iPhone and the iPad as according to an article over on ubergizmo, Apple wants to spread their iPhone OS wings onto other platforms, devices and gadgets.

Apparently this supposition originates from a jobs listing from Apple which points at an engineering manager for handling “platform bring-up,” and said engineering manager will be able “to lead a team focused on bring-up of iPhone OS on new platforms.”

So is Apple looking to spread iPhone OS onto other stuff, will we see other smartphones utilising iPhone OS? I’m not too sure what other gadgets could have the iPhone OS, but I’m sure there are many out there.

So readers what do you think, is it good that Apple wants to reproduce the iPhone OS across other platforms, gadgets and devices, or should the iPhone OS remain just for the iPhone and iPad?
