BlackBerry gets BBC iPlayer through Wi-Fi

Great news for all BlackBerry users out there as we hear you can now have BBC iPlayer on your devices.

You can now catch up on the programmes you may have missed, while to others it appears you are just checking your emails etc. That is thanks to the new BlackBerry friendly BBC iPlayer web portal.

The free service comes hot on the heels of the BBC’s announcement at the Mobile World Congress that it would be releasing a range of smartphone applications for its online services.

This free service gives users quick and simple access to BBC TV and radio programmes. This is compatible with most of Research In Motion’s latest Blackberry models and allows UK customers to catch up on programmes from its terrestrial channels as well as local and national radio stations. Much the same as iPlayer on the iPhone this service will only work through Wi-Fi. Source – recombu.com
