Date: March 4th, 2010

A native version of Opera Mini 5 beta which is for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 mobile phones, or should that now be Windows Phone Classic, has been pushed out by Opera Software reports an article over on thehindu.com.

According to the vice president of products at Opera Software, Dag Olay Norem, “Windows Mobile deserves a mobile browser that looks better, handles better and delivers better than the default browser. Even though Opera has 50 million satisfied Opera Mini users, we always seek ways to improve our browser for each and every mobile phone user out there. Now, we are pleased to offer the world’s most popular mobile Web browser as a native Windows Mobile application.”

Opera Mini will work on any Windows Mobile handset and does not require Java, and Opera Mini compresses data traffic by up to 90% and thus improves speed and page loading.

Opera Software has said in the Opera Mini 5 beta release press release that Opera can deliver an optimised version of Opera Mini which will dramatically improve performance and user experience.
