Apple and China Unicom to redesign new iPhone

What’s this? A new iPhone in the making? A Chinese blend iPhone 4G perhaps? No nothing as quite as exciting as that. It looks like Apple isn’t about to give up on getting their iconic iPhone into China as Apple is lloking to work with China Unicom to re-enter the Chinese market.

According to an article over on itproportal, Apple is looking to offer a “redesigned version” of the iPhone that will sport Chinese standard WiFi capabilities because the Chinese government said Apple wasn’t allowed to offer WiFi but wanted them to use the Chinese WiFi standard WAPI.

So it looks like Apple has decided to bow down to the Chinese chiefs and offer a new redesigned iPhone which will pack not just Chinese WAPI but WiFi as well.

Apple tried to take the Chinese mobile market by storm with the iPhone back in October but failed due to the iPhone apparently offering less to the customer than what was on offer from pirated versions of the iPhone.
