Google Maps for Mobile Street View now live for UK smartphones

Google Maps has just become more useful here in the UK, because Google Maps in the UK has just received Street View, delivering all the estates, roads, tracks and just about everything else associated with Street View straight to the users smartphone, reports an article over on all about symbian.

You can grab hold of Google Maps for Mobile straight from m.google.com/gmm and to be able to use the Street View function the user needs to do a long tap on any location and then select “Street View” from the menu.

Currently though Google servers are fairly slow as delivering the high resolution images, but no doubt they will be adding additional servers to speed things up in due course.

Up until now UK users of Google Maps only had street level in major cities, but now apparently it covers the entire UK with Street View and is accessible via your desktop PC and your mobile phone.
