4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network for smartphones 2012 or 2013

Other than the Apple iPhone 4G the next hottest technology has to be 4G-branded Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, and it’s been said that 4G for smartphones will not start releasing until at least 2012 or maybe even 2013.

According to Straits Times, they report that 4G is the successor to 3G networks, which we all know about already and that 4G means fourth generation of wireless mobile standards that we know also. However, they do go on to say that consumers will not see 4G mobile phones until at least 2012, apparently 4G dongles will hit the market first.

4G is definitely needed for smartphones, for faster web experience and of course it will allow videos to be streamed at a very fast speed, playing online games on mobile phones at the moment sometimes gives you a little lag; well with 4G this would be near enough non-existent.

3G networks can get up to about 21Mbps speeds whereas 4G can give speeds up to 100Mbps, for more information please visit the source above. When do you think we will see 4G smartphones?
