News just in from the folks over at techradar.com is not good news for those of you that proudly own a Samsung Jet.

Apparently according to the report over on techradar Samsung have actually confirmed that those current Samsung Jet owners will not be getting the upgrade for the BBC iPlayer.

The new Samsung Jet Ultra Edition which has just recently been announced to be offered from 02 UK with exclusive gifts for the first 10,000 customers is pretty much the same as the Jet S8000 which launched last year.

However, the new Jet Ultra is available with a cool black and silver trim and has BBC iPlayer included and of course integrated social networking. The phone itself is very much the same underneath so most hoped that current Jet owners would get the iPlayer upgrade. But that’s where it stops Samsung have quite bluntly said that the software will not be available for the existing Jet handsets.
