CTIA 2010 Sprint: LG Remarq Eco-Friendly Mobile Phone Release Date

Starting off CTIA 2010, Sprint has announced the upcoming launch of the eco-friendly messaging and multimedia mobile phone from LG, the LG Remarq, reports an article over on phone news. The Sprint LG Remarq is a vertical slider handset sporting a QWERTY keyboard and is to be launched in both turquoise and dark silver.

Spec wise the LG Remarq offers the user a handset that meets RoHS standards for restriction of hazardous materials like mercury, cadmium and lead, a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording, Bluetooth, , media player and microSDHC expansion up to 16GB.

The packaging for the Sprint LG Remarq is made from 19% post-consumer recycled plastic while the LG Remarq handset is 87% recyclable and contains low levels of brominated flame retardants, and polyvinyl chloride, both of which are commonly targeted by green electronics guidelines.

The LG Remark also swaps out the use of a paper handset manual and opts instead for an electronic online user manual which can be accessed on the LG Remarq when it is launched on the 9th of May and will command a price tag of $19.99 after an instant $50 mail in rebate and based on a 2 year agreement.

    Beware of the hype. It is hgreen, but not very functional.
    It has a build in GPS but does not, at the time, accept GPS navigation software. To enter numbers in the key pad you have to use the miniture "Function Key" to overtride the letters. When you have used the Remarq, you have to put it to sleep manually. There is no manual except a pdf version, which has page numbers scrambled and the index is not bringing you to the desired selected subject. it is the worst product immaginable
    I returned it after 24 hours of sheer frustration
