So does this mean there will be no subsidized pricing option? And how is it that you’re announcing the sale of the N1 on Verizon but neither Verizon nor Google’s website offer even the unlocked option yet?

  2. Daniel says:

There’s no way I’ll pay the unsubsidized price for the Nexus One. My Verizon contract just expired in February, and I’ll wait for Verizon to release the HTC Incredible. But if there is a subsidized option through Google comparable to the T-Mobile price ($179), I’ll probably go for it.

I’m current user of Verizon with two phones that are eligible for an upgrade and would like to go with the Nexus One for me and the Droid Eris for my wife. I can’t seem to get a release date from either Verizon or Google. I also understand the Eris is about to go to 2.1 of Android. Should I wait and how long?

I am also a Verizon customer w/ upgrades available on two of the phones on my account. I wanted to use the buy one get one free deal to get my Nexus One and my wife’s Palm Pre Plus. So I headed to a store expecting to do just that but, I didn’t see the Nexus One so I asked the manager and all he said was it will be out Spring 2010. So I asked to see the Palm Pre and made the decision to buy it and wait up to 2+ months for the Google to release the NO. While I was waiting for them to update my account info and activate the new phone an employee was passing out lanyards with a red badge that read “My Verizon 2.0 is here now” and on the other side “It’s coming 3/28” They joked about it and asked what’s coming? and they looked at me and nodded their heads. But, they said we can’t say what’s coming but, we all know what it is hint, hint 😉

I think SocalJ may be hearing what he wants to hear, but the “My Verizon 2.0” and the 3/28 date likely refer to the big refurb on the Verizon website, not to the phones we’re drooling for…

  6. Mike says:

Sorry to tell you, but My Verizon is Verizon’s account management website for customers that they are updating to 2.0. Methinks they were messing with you…

  7. John says:

Sprint is getting the N1 also, might give them a shot. Tired of Verizon nickel and diming me for every possible available option.

Might also just wait, another week or so, for the Incredible!

  8. Alex says:

I will not be getting the Nexus one for Verizon. By the time it comes out, the N1 will almost be old technology. Might as well wait for a possible Verizon 4G iPhone.
