HTC Desire for Free on Telstra April 27th

Telstra the wireless carrier and handset vendor HTC Corporation announced that the HTC Desire Android powered Smartphone was about to become available for purchase.

The device will be available in Australia to purchase from April 27th, and then the handset will be launched in the country exclusively on Telstra’s Next 3G network, which incidentally is the fastest 3G network in Australia.

The Desire continues HTC’s leadership in the cutting edge phone design and function according to Anthony Petts sales and marketing director ANZ, HTC Corporation. And the Sense experience enhances the user’s ability to personalise their Smartphone.

The HTC Desire is powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and runs under Google’s Android operating system, it also boasts a 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display with the amazing pinch to zoom capabilities. The phone is to be available on Telstra for free with a $60 consumer phone plan for 24 months, or sold free of contract for $779.
