FCC approve Toshiba K01

One of the latest phones which was officially unveiled with Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system is the Toshiba K01.

The handset has been spotted passing through the FCC’s courtyard with support for AT&T and also T Mobile’s airwaves. It was announced during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and is now one of the two Windows Mobile 6.5.3 based phones that Toshiba is preparing to launch on the market during this year. The other device is the Toshiba TG02.

The handset that has got the all clear from the FCC for use in the United States comes with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor together with 4.1 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display.

It also sports a side sliding QWERTY keyboard. What is also important is that this is the first ever phone from Toshiba to include an Organic Light Emitting Diode otherwise known as OLED display as well as the fact that the K01 has a very slim form factor measuring just 12.9mm front to back.
