The news of the HTC HD2 not gaining upgrade to Windows Phone 7 Series was fairly devastating, but like I have said before no doubt some bright spark will hack Windows Phone 7 Series onto the HTC HD2 smartphone at some stage.

Well who was right? According to an article over on redmondpie, a few Russian hackers have been working on just that and have managed to port a ‘real’ working Windows Phone 7 ROM to the HTC HD2, and furthermore HTCPedia’s Tom Codon has posted a few screenshots.

Apparently they say almost everything is working including GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi although the graphic’s driver seems to be somewhat laggy and choppy, but they intend to release a Beta of said ROM quite soon.
