Sony Ericsson Xperia Hardware Multitouch problems

Apparently there have been some problems with Sony Ericsson’s latest flagship smartphone the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 although Sony Ericsson has confirmed that upgrades which will include a new Android operating system will come in the future reports engadget.

However they also report via the official Sony Ericsson blog, that product manager for Sony Ericsson, Rikard Skogberg has stated that there is no multitouch in the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and confirms that it is not only related to software but also hardware.

Therefore if the statement is indeed true it means sadly that the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 smartphone will not support multitouch and will not gain multitouch even when rooted.

So there it is, looks like any Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 buyer is going to have to do with any pinch and zoom, but Sony Ericsson do have a few fancy user interface quirks of their own.
