The Sprint HTC Hero is apparently getting the Android 2.1 update on April 9; it is great to see Android 2.1 being pushed out to other Google Android devices.

EVDOinfo.com says that Verizon has already rolled out Android 2.1 for the Motorola Droid, Nexus One was the only device to see this update and now other devices are getting it, which is very good news indeed for users.

The Sprint document came via Phandroid saying that the update will be released in the US for Sprint HTC Hero smartphones, the update release has not yet been officially announced but we will keep you posted.

There are always last minute delays so hopefully these get sorted out and we can hear the official release from the horse’s mouths.
