HTC EVO 4G Phone: Do you need Low-end digital camera?

The new HTC EVO 4G WiMax phone from Sprint will win the hearts from millions of consumers with its stunning looks and amazing feature-rich specifications, but how does it compare to low-end digital cameras?

The HTC device comes with 8MP autofocus camera with dual LED flash and 1.3MP front-facing camera, it will also allow you to capture and share HD-quality video (720p) from your phone.

Ok it will not replace the DSLR, but you can consider doing away with your cheap digital camera. It will take amazing pictures, but it is not only the pictures that make this handset a popular choice, according to Steve’s Digicams this has much more to offer like WiFi capable, the use of 3G or 4G network with possible speeds of up-to 6Mbps.

Another good pointer is the choice of uploading your photos via the EVO; it also features output pictures and a slideshow. You can hook it up to the TV as well, which makes it even more appealing.

Would you do away with the low-end low-cost digital camera in favour for the HTC EVO 4G? Just so you know there is no release date set, other than it will be releasing Summer 2010, no price has been mentioned yet either.
