Is there any possibility that Apple could merge iPhone OS and iPad OS together? This question is worth thinking about, modifications can be made to make this happen.

The iPad was released last weekend and there is a slim chance that the iPhone OS and the modified OS for the iPad PC could merge at some point according to Cnet into one operating system.

It would be nice to see this happen with the new iPhone OS 4.0, which will be announced very soon, but we think that it will not happen until at least iPhone OS 4.1 or whatever the next operating system will be called.

Could we see an OS 4.1 release sometime in September or October, and will the iPad OS and iPhone OS merge?
