LG’s first HTML 5 compatible GD880 Mini launched

Under: LG
Date: April 8th, 2010

After many months of tempting and teasing us the LG GD880 otherwise known as Mini has just hit the shelves and it promises some really interesting features.

Firstly this is the first HTML 5 compatible mobile phone. It has a candy bar form factor and looks very stylish indeed but as we know most LG devices have the same standard of appealing looks.

The handset received the red dot award and also iF product design in March. This device measures 102.0 x 47.6 x 10.6mm and weighs just 99g and that includes the battery. It comes with a nice large 3.2 inch TFT touchscreen.

The main surprise of this bar phone is the Phantom Browser, which apparently promises to offer much faster and a much more steady internet experience than the normal as well as better flexibility and permission to open up to ten tabs at the same time.

The handset also allows the intelligence of Touch to Zoom features which optimizes each webpage for reading on the LG Mini’s screen. The price seems to be approx 350 Euros.
