Apple reveal new Webkit framework called Webkit2

Apple have made another announcement although this time nothing to do with the very much talked about iPhone OS 4, which of course is still creating a lot of conversation.

But no, this is in relation to some news which has turned out to be a little unexpected and surprising. Apple’s development team is working on a new Webkit framework currently named Webkit2.

This one apparently runs browser elements as separate processes similar to Google’s Chrome and at the same time it is built into the foundation of the framework which allows other non safari clients to use it.

The development team have started that it is better than the Chrome. This really is an eye opener and could even take over the hot topic of conversation of the iPhone OS topic. Although it hasn’t been officially announced we are expecting word soon.
