We gain a close look at the BlackBerry Bold 9650 smartphone today featuring some Bold branding thanks to the guys over at crackberry who got the exclusive images from their tip line, and it’s always nice to see new live pictures of a device.

In the image the BlackBerry About screen is branded with the BlackBerry 9650 model while the back of the handset sports the Bold brand name.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 which is referred to by the codename essex was originally presumed to be the follow up to the BlackBerry Tour 9630, the BlackBerry Tour2.

However the Blackberry Bold 9650 goes beyond the specifications of the BlackBerry Tour 9630 by adding OpenGL support, WiFi and an optical trackpad.
