Ads in Apps is smart progression for Apple, but I don't see it as being the "winner" in mobile advertising. I don't think this is a zero-sum game. I think it is more about adding a market and revenue stream for Apple not taking one away from Google.

Jobs has to say this is the future because this is the only future Apple could have in the market (since it doesn't have a search engine). And, on the iPhone / iPod Touch I think he is right, but only because the search feature on those devices doesn't include the internet. Both Android and the new Windows 7 Phone allow for universal search (not just local device) which puts the ad market right back in the search engine domain.

I see ads in my apps already. I ignore them much like I ignore anything from this lunatic. Please return that liver to its rightful owner Jobs. Just because you have money doesn't mean you get to bypass the line you fool.
