Verizon insider claims we will have Nexus One by end of April

One thing is pretty much for sure if Google were to release a Nexus One Smartphone that worked on Verizon’s network, there would be a fair few people wanting to purchase it.

The rumours have continued speculating that Verizon will soon be making an announcement in order to confirm the speculations. Some thought that the day would be yesterday, sadly that didn’t happen. Well not what people wanted to hear instead we heard of the Kin One and the Kin Two from Microsoft.

So what is causing the delay, or is it just a deliberate ply to keep the rumours floating? A Verizon insider claims to know what we want to know and that is that the Verizon Nexus One will be available by the end of April and he / she is very confident that this is accurate.

Apparently the hold up is the litigation between Apple and HTC over various patents which are related to Smartphone technology. When that legal hurdle has been overcome then Verizon will be in a position to roll out the much awaited Nexus One in a big way.

That's problematic. From what I've read, this legal battle could take at LEAST 18 months if they don't settle, and HTC has already announced they will defend their products. A similar battle with Microsoft has been ongoing for 10 years now. If they're waiting for the legalities, it's gonna be well past April.
